How Much Does a Photo Booth Rental Cost in Vancouver? (2026 Guide)

What changes the price of a photo booth, what should always be included, and how to compare quotes so you get real value for your event.

Guests posing at a vintage wooden photo booth at a party

If you are planning a wedding, birthday or company party in Vancouver, a photo booth is one of the easiest ways to keep guests having fun all night. But prices can look very different from one company to the next. This guide explains what actually changes the cost of a photo booth rental, what should be included, and how to compare quotes the smart way.

The short answer

The cost of a photo booth rental in Vancouver depends on three main things: the type of booth, how many hours you book, and what is included. A simple print booth for a few hours costs less than a 360 video booth or a booth that prints custom keychains or trading cards. Most companies sell packages, so the best way to compare is to look at what you get for the price, not just the number.

At Photobooth Studio, every package shows the price on its booth page. You can compare our Classic Unlimited Photo Booth, Modern Insta Photo Booth, Vintage Luxury Photo Booth and 360 Photo Booth side by side. Extra time is always $99 per hour.

What changes the price of a photo booth?

1. The type of booth

Different booths need different equipment and staff time.

  • Print booths (classic, open air or vintage) take photos and print them on the spot.
  • 360 photo booths record slow-motion videos on a rotating platform, so they need more space and setup time.
  • AI photo booths turn guests into fun art styles with software and a strong internet connection.
  • Keychain and trading card booths turn every photo into a physical keepsake, so the price includes those materials.

2. How many hours you book

Most packages start at about three hours. That is usually enough for a wedding reception or a party, because guests use the booth most during cocktail hour and after dinner. If your event is long or has a lot of guests, add an extra hour instead of booking a second booth.

3. Prints and keepsakes

Ask if prints are unlimited or limited. Some companies charge per print or cap the number of strips. With unlimited prints, every guest can print as many as they want, which makes the booth much more popular.

4. Custom design

A custom print design with your names, date and colours makes the photos feel personal. Check if the design is included and how many rounds of changes you get. You can browse more than 300 ideas on our photo booth layouts page.

5. Travel and setup

Travel fees can add up if your venue is outside the city. We have no travel fee anywhere in Metro Vancouver or the Fraser Valley, and we quote one clear fee for places like Whistler, Kelowna or Vancouver Island. You can see every region on our cities page.

What should always be included?

When you compare quotes, make sure these are part of the price and not hidden extras:

  • A trained attendant for the whole event
  • Delivery, setup and teardown
  • A backdrop and props
  • A custom print design
  • Instant sharing by text or email
  • An online gallery of all the photos
  • Liability insurance (many venues ask for it)

If a quote looks cheap but leaves out the attendant, the backdrop or the gallery, it often ends up costing more once you add them back.

How to get the best value

  • Book early. Popular Saturdays in summer and December fill up first.
  • Pick the right booth for your crowd. A fun 360 booth is great for a dance party, while a vintage print booth fits an elegant wedding.
  • Choose the hours that matter. Start the booth at cocktail hour and run it into the dance floor.
  • Ask for everything in writing. A clear quote lists the booth, hours, prints, design, travel and any extras.

Is a cheaper booth worth it?

A lower price is not always better value. Old cameras, poor lighting or no attendant can mean blurry photos and long lines. Look at sample photos, read reviews and ask what happens if something breaks. We bring a backup camera and printer to every event for that reason.
